Watercolour Easter Chick Card

Happy Monday crafters!  How was your weekend?  Good I hope.  Can you believe its almost Easter?  Where have the past 2 months gone?

In light of the impending holiday, whether you celebrate it for religious reasons, or because you have children, I've created todays Easter Chick Card.

Todays card mostly features a watercolour technique.  I took a blank notecard, and a sheet of Whisper White card, which I cut into panels measuring 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" and 4 1/2" x 3".  Then taking my Hello Honey Stampin' Pad and an Aqua Painter, I applied a wash of colour around the edge of the larger panel.  Leave to dry.  Once dry, using Stampin' Dimensionals, stick in place on the card blank.

Hint:  To do this you can squish the centre of the closed Stampin' Pad slightly, pressing the ink onto the lid, then taking the loaded Aqua Painter, pick up some of the ink from the lid, and apply to the card squeezing the Aqua Painter slightly to release some water.

Then, using the same technique, a Cucumber Crush Stampin' Pad, and a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Pad, I applied a wash to the smaller panel to give the appearance of grass and sky.  Leave to dry.  Once dry, using Snail Adhesive, stick in place on top of the previous panel.

Taking some of the remaining Whisper White Card, and Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad, I stamped out the chick from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set, and the banner from the You're So Lovely stamp set.  Once dry, using the Hello Honey Stampin' Pad and Aqua Painter, I applied a wash of colour to the banner and the chick, adding more colour to the beak and feet, and to imitate shadow.  Finally, taking a Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker, I added the greeting, and highlighted the edges, of the banner, before cutting out both the banner and chick.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow), I then applied the chick to the card.  The banner was applied using Stampin' Dimensionals, with a coil of Linen Thread in the sandwich of adhesive.

The flowers were created by scribbling a patch of Hello Honey ink (using the Aqua Painter) and Calypso Coral onto Whisper White card, punching out using the flower punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  The 3D flower effect was achieved by pressing into the centre of each flower with a Simply Scored Stylus, whilst on a Stampin' Pierce Mat.  These were then applied to the card using Tombow.

A Week of Wildflower Fields - Day 3, The Adventure Begins

Welcome to Day 3 of my Week of Wildflower Fields!  Today I have decided to team up the Wildflower Fields DSP with the You're So Lovely Stamp Set, to create my The Adventure Begins note pad.

This note pad is made by cutting a 12x12" sheet of Hello Honey to 3" wide, scoring along the length at both 8 3/8" and 8 1/2", to make the note pad cover.  The short end is then adhered to the note pad using Fast Fuse adhesive.  The decorative panel is cut from a sheet of Wildflower Fields DSP, and the sentiment (from You're So Lovely) is stamped onto some Whisper White card using our Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad.  The sentiment is punched out using the Decorative Label Punch, with the edges distressed using Hello Honey and a Stamping Sponge.

I then took some Bakers Twine (I chose Old Olive), wrapped it around the cover, sticking in place with a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive.  The sentiment was then stuck in place over the Bakers Twine with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

A Week of Wildflower Fields - Day 2, Because You're So Nice

Welcome to Day 2 of my Week of Wildflower Fields!  Today I have decided to team up the Wildflower Fields DSP with another Sale-A-Bration product, the Botanicals For You Stamp Set...

141234/141237 - Botanicals For You

And here is todays project, my Because You're So Nice greetings card.

This card is made using an A4 sheet of Whisper White card, cut in half and scored, to make an A5 card blank.  This is then topped with a piece of Wildflower Fields DSP cut to 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" (15cm x 10.5cm).  The main greeting, Just For You, is then stamped in Delightful Dijon, onto a piece of Whisper White card, then cut out once dry.  The secondary greeting, Because You're So Nice, is stamped onto a strip of Whisper White card 1" (2.5cm) wide.  Once dry, this is then trimmed to fit, using the Banner Triple Punch.  Both greetings are then adhered to the card blank using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Happy Birthday Chick

With Sale-a-Bration in full swing, today I'd like to share with you a card and gift tag combo, made using one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets.  You could choose the Honeycomb Happiness as your free gift for spending £45 on anything Stampin' Up!

This chirpy little guy was stamped in Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad, then coloured in using the Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad and an Aqua Brush.  The balloon was much the same, only stamped twice, the first into the background paper, then a second into some Whisper White card.  The balloon was then cut out and attached on top of the other balloon with Stampin' Dimensionals 3D foam pads.

The tag was made from a piece of Whisper White card, cut to 2" x 4" (or 5cm x 10cm), then the end punched using the Angled Tag Topper Punch (currently on sale within our Clearance section).  The tag was then decorated in pretty much the same way as the card

In addition to the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets used, here are the products used to create today's project:

World's Best Mother

Can you believe it's Friday already?  Where has the week gone?

Today I'd like to share with you another card created using a new stamp set in the Spring/Summer catalogue, the You're So Lovely stamp set.

Made using some of the new Have a Cuppa DSP and coordinating cardstock, I think this is a card any mother would love to receive (I know I would).

There are so many different occasions you could use this stamp set for, its now a staple in my craft stash!

Here is a list of supplies needed to recreate this card

Wildflower Fields

I take part in a couple of card swaps each month, exchanging cards with other crafter's all over the world.  With this in mind, I've been having a play with some of our Sale-a-Bration products, the Wildflower Fields DSP in particular.

I absolutely love just how different these cards look, even though I'm using the same sheets of DSP, just the opposite side (got to love double sided papers).  Which do you prefer?

As usual, I've included a slideshow of the products used in creating these cards, in addition to the Sale-a-Bration DSPs.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Sale-a-Bration Preview

Sale-a-Bration launches tomorrow, and I'm so excited!  For those of you that are new to Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-Bration is a fantastic event that enables you to earn yourself even more free products than you would normally, and for a much lower order amount!

One of the free stamp sets you can choose from is Sky is the Limit.  I think this is a great stamp set for the men in your life, especially if, like me, your stamp collection is mostly Christmas or butterflies and flowers!

I decided to incorporate a stamp from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set (in the main catalogue) for the clouds, and I think it turned out pretty well.

I hope you come back tomorrow for more Sale-a-Bration ideas, bit in the meantime, here is a list of the products I used (in addition to Sky is the Limit) to create this card.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Love Ya Floral Wings Card

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and New Year, celebrating the festivities as you see fit.  For the first time in years, I got to spend Christmas day in my PJs, which helped to make it the best Christmas yet!

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made using the Floral Wings stamp set and the In Color 2015-17 Designer Series Paper.

I can't help but get excited over the butterfly stamp (I love butterflies), and when stamped in Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder, I think it looks great!

And for that added touch, you can't beat a handmade envelope.  There's nothing worse than making a card and finding you don't have a suitably sized envelope to send it in, and its so easy to make your own when you use the Envelope Punch Board!  As usual, here is a full list of the products used...

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Sparkly Seasons Snowman Snow Globe

Where has the year gone?  I can't quite believe that it's Christmas in just three days.  Three days!  I'm nowhere near ready for the festivities that follow a visit from Santa...

I wanted to share with you another of my Christmas makes.  Somehow, no matter how many cards I make in advance, I always run out and need to make more at the last minute.  So here is my latest make.

With some silver embossing and glitter snow, I think this snowman looks simply adorable in his snow globe.

Part of the "Sparkly Seasons" stamp set, this snowman is only available for a limited time, while stock lasts, and now at a reduced price!

Here are the products used
